DHL Supply Chain (DSC) has entered into a strategic partnership with VinFast to manage the supply chain requirements of the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in the Philippines.
This partnership, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of VinFast's operations in the country, will utilise DSC Philippines' 50,000-square-metre Sta. Rosa Logistics Centre in Laguna. This purpose-built logistics facility is equipped with advanced technology and specialised infrastructure to manage and store spare parts efficiently.
The partnership agreement was officially signed on 22nd October 2024 by Bevan Williams, Managing Director of DSC Philippines, and Cao Ngoc Nguyen Duy, Managing Director of VinFast Auto Philippines.
VinFast, a subsidiary of VinGroup JSC, one of Vietnam's largest conglomerates, is a dedicated EV manufacturer focused on making electric vehicles accessible to a wider audience.
Bevan Williams commented, "DHL Supply Chain Philippines is proud to support VinFast as it scales its operations and expands its presence in the Philippines. By leveraging our expertise in spare parts management, we aim to establish a robust framework for the future of electric vehicle logistics in the Philippines. With our Laguna facility serving as the backbone of this initiative, we are excited to support VinFast's growth in the country."
DSC's strategically located facilities in Metro Manila and southern regions provide supply chain optimisation services to streamline logistics for VinFast's aftersales market, including the effective management of EV battery spare parts logistics.
The electric vehicle sector in the Philippines is experiencing rapid growth, driven by increased investments and sustainability initiatives from both public and private sectors.
In 2022, the Philippine government enacted the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act, a landmark law designed to promote EV adoption nationwide through incentives, infrastructure development, and investment in charging stations.
According to the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, the country's EV fleet is projected to grow to 6.6 million units by 2030, including 3.6 million electric motorcycles and 300,000 private electric cars.
This transformation is expected to significantly reshape the country's transportation landscape. With support from the Sta. Rosa Logistics Centre, VinFast is poised to meet the rising demand for EVs in the Philippines while maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring rapid distribution to customers.
VinFast has already launched its first three dealerships in Metro Manila and plans to expand its network to key cities and major centres across the country.
