Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) as the Brand Holder Agent (APM) and distributor of Mazda vehicles in Indonesia has announced that it will establish an assembly facility of Mazda cars in Indonesia.
The construction of this facility marks a new chapter in the partnership between Mazda Motor Corporation (MC) and EMI. Meanwhile, the Mazda assembly facility in Indonesia is planned to be located in West Java.
EMI expects that compact crossovers will be the main segment category produced at this facility. Considering that this segment category is most popular with Indonesian consumers. Based on sales, the biggest possibility is Mazda CX-3.
"Eurokars is honoured to have been given the trust of Mazda Motor Corporation to build an assembly facility in Indonesia. Construction of this facility will be a significant milestone. We maintain the quality standards for Mazda vehicles that are assembled locally for customers in Indonesia, so that they come with quality that is equivalent to vehicles that are fully assembled in Japan (Completely Built Up)," said Managing Director of Eurokars Motor Indonesia (Mazda Indonesia), Ricky Thio .
Investment from EMI is estimated to reach around IDR 400 billion in total (US$ 25.6 million).
"In planning the construction of a Mazda assembly facility in Indonesia, we prioritised contributions to empower local communities, especially those in the West Java region," explained Ricky.
