Polestar 3 begins production in local market

Polestar announced on 28th February that Polestar 3 has begun full-scale production at its Chengdu factory in China.
Polestar 3 is a large electric performance SUV with a combined total output of 517 PS and a worldwide harmonised light vehicles test procedure (WLTP)-based driving range of 610km when fully charged. Polestar 3 is also scheduled to be released domestically, and the release schedule is set to be revealed later.
"Polestar 3 is a large electric performance SUV. Full-scale production of Polestar 3 has begun at the Chengdu factory in China. Starting in the middle of this year, we plan to begin additional production at our plant in South Carolina, USA, and we have recently successfully completed initial production testing for this purpose. Polestar 3 has also been confirmed for domestic sale," said a company official.
The vehicle is based on air suspension, maintaining comfort in various driving environments while providing Polestar's unique dynamic driving texture. Based on a dual motor powertrain, it produces a combined total output of 517 PS and a maximum torque of 910 Nm. Polestar 3 is equipped with a 111kWh lithium-ion battery.
Polestar 3's target is a maximum driving range of 610km based on WLTP when fully charged. Supports 250kW fast charging. Polestar 3 provides an advanced driver assistance system based on NVIDIA centralised computing technology. It's domestic specifications are equipped with specialised specifications such as HD maps jointly developed with T Map.
Meanwhile, Polestar chief executive officer (CEO) Thomas Ingenrath said, "The start of production of the incredibly attractive Polestar 3 is an important step forward and milestone in Polestar's journey of growing from a 'one car company' selling one vehicle to a 'three car company. The production plan is progressing smoothly at our U.S. factory as well."
