Toyota stops production of Sienta in Indonesia

Toyota Sienta is no longer produced in Indonesia due to continuous declining sales. This was conveyed directly by the Vice President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), Bob Azam.
"No, the Toyota Sienta is no longer in production," said Bob when addressing the media reporters at the xEV Centre educational facility at the Toyota Karawang Plant, West Java, on 22nd January, 2024.
Not only marketed in Indonesia, this MPV produced in Karawang is also exported to several countries. However, according to the Gaikindo regarding export data for 2023, TMMIN last exported Sienta abroad in March 2023.
In Indonesia, Toyota Sienta has not received a refresh, while in Japan the appearance is completely new.
Toyota Sienta in Japan is offered in a choice of petrol and hybrid engines. Hybrid engine variant is equipped with a 1,500cc M15A-FXE engine combined with a hybrid system which is claimed to be able to produce fuel consumption of 28.8 km/L. This variant uses the E-Four drive system.
