Continental Tires Thailand launches 2 new models of 7th generation tyres in Thailand, highlighting the strengths of technology from Germany, combined with the needs of today's car users who need to respond to the various types of cars and driving methods more than ever before.
Initially, the two new tyre models consist of the Continental MaxContact MC7, a high-performance sports tyre that provides precision when cornering on dry road surfaces with Cornering Macro-blocks technology, increasing the contact area with the road and distributing pressure to other areas to help increase control efficiency and make the car more stable.
It is enhanced with 'stabiliser bar' technology to help hold the Macro blocks firmly in place, allowing them to withstand increased pressure.
Continental says "the MaxContact MC7 also helps control braking on wet roads, thanks to three-dimensional laser-cut Star & Lightning grooves and Aquasipes that work together to cut through the water film from multiple directions, allowing the MaxContact MC7 to drain water quickly and reduce loss of grip on the road surface."
In addition it also said, "MaxContact MC7 is designed for people who want to drive in a sporty style, including on the racetrack. The tyre features Reflex Compound technology that maximises grip, provides consistent control, and reduces outside noise with Noise Breaker 3.0 grooves that help block sound waves and disperse them into small frequencies to prevent noise from traveling into the cabin."
"Continental eContact tyres are tyres designed and manufactured specifically for use with electric vehicles. The tyres come with the ContiSeal innovation that instantly seals punctures, making them ideal for drivers of electric vehicles that do not have a spare tyre installed in their vehicles. They are also enhanced with ContiSilent technology, which installs sound-absorbing foam inside the tyres to reduce road noise, resulting in a quieter cabin while traveling. You can drive further than before with low rolling resistance," further added the company.
Continental eContact tyres also come with driving and braking control performance, and can also be used well on both dry and wet road surfaces.
Karel Kucera, managing director of Continental Tires Thailand, said, "The overall tyre market in Thailand is growing continuously. This is a result of several supporting factors, such as the government's push to increase the country's potential to support production, becoming an important supply chain for the region, and supporting Thailand to become a centre for future automotive production, or Future Mobility Hub, along with the driving behaviour of Thais, which has grown at a higher rate compared to the previous COVID situation."
"In addition, Thai people are increasingly concerned about driving and passenger safety, and tend to choose high-quality tyres that meet their lifestyles. Continental is introducing two new tyre models that come with advanced innovation and performance: MaxContact MC7 and eContact. We aim to create value through product quality and excellent service to provide confidence in every journey for all customers."
Continental has announced the price of the Continental MaxContact MC7 starting at THB 4,000-13,000 (US$ 110 - 360)/tyre, with tyre sizes ranging from 16 - 20 inches. The Continental eContact starts at THB 6,000-16,000/tyre, with tyre sizes ranging from 17 - 20 inches.
