Triumph Thailand has now launched the Trident 660 mid-size roadster, a special edition, Triumph Trident Triple Tribute special edition 2024, inspired by the TT racer that won 5 times from 1971 to 1975, 'Slippery Sam'. Initially, Triumph is to sell this model for only 1 year in Thailand, with a selling price of THB 319,000 (US$ 8,800).
Trident Triple Tribute is uniquely decorated with contemporary graphics in white, blue and red with the number 67 on the fuel tank, referring to the Slippery Sam racer, colour-matched underbody panel and windshield, Triumph badges on both the headlight and tail light, badges on the fuel filler cap, handlebar clamps and instrument panel, including an aluminium Trident badge, a body-coloured radiator cover, aluminium handlebar covers and footrest guards, tapered aluminium handlebars, teardrop mirrors, a body-coloured shock absorber guard and 17-inch black five-spoke aluminium cast wheels.
In terms of standard equipment, the Trident Triple Tribute adds a Bluetooth connectivity system to use the My Triumph Connectivity system, it also supports connection to smartphones, listening to music or using the Turn-by-turn navigation system, and adds the Triumph Shift Assist system to help the rider shift up/down without using the clutch, including the Autoblipper system when shifting down for speed and smoothness as standard equipment.
The bike also features LED lights, a TFT multi-function display, ride-by-wire electronic throttle, black Showa inverted forks with 120 mm front wheel travel, a Showa RSU monoshock rear shock with preload adjustment and a Linkage with 133.5 mm rear wheel travel, disc brakes with ABS, Nissin 2-piston callipers, twin 310 mm discs and Michelin Road 5 tyres.
Power for the bike comes from a 660cc, 3-cylinder engine that delivers a deep, rich sound with a small, single-sided silencer and a stainless steel end cap. The transmission is a 6-speed with newly improved gear ratios. Maximum power is 82 PS at 10,250 rpm, maximum torque is 6.5 kg-m at 6,250 rpm, and exhaust emissions are 107 g/km, meeting Euro 5 standards.
Paul Stroud, Triumph Motorcycles Chief Commercial Officer, said: "Since its launch in 2020, the mid-size roadster has been a force in this competitive market, selling more than 35,600 units worldwide."
"The triple engine and premium features at an affordable price have succeeded in bringing a new generation of riders to Triumph, just as the Slippery Sam inspired a generation. We believe this special edition motorcycle has distinctive style, exceptional technology and dynamic performance that will appeal to Triumph fans today," Paul added further.
Trident Triple Tribute can also be further customised with 32 genuine Triumph accessories, including billet machined bar end mirrors, pre-wired heated handlebars, a fuel tank pad, a moulded frame and engine cover protector, a CNC moulded shock protector, a Muc-Off cleaning kit, full air covers, a battery charger, an additional USB charging socket under the seat, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a waterproof luggage set, a tank bag, a tail box and an ergonomic seat grab handle.
