GAC to launch Aion E9 Hybrid MPV in Q1 2026

Indonesia is set to receive the GAC Aion E9, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), in the first quarter of 2026.
GAC Aion Indonesia has confirmed that the E9 PHEV will be launched in the country in Q1 2026.
During a media test drive of the Aion UT in Jakarta on 18 September 2025, Aion Indonesia CEO Andry Ciu stated that the E9 PHEV is scheduled to arrive in Q1 2026.
Although the vehicle will only be available in 2026, it has been exhibited in Indonesia on at least two occasions: first at the inauguration of the GAC Aion factory in West Java and subsequently at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.
The E9 is a multi-purpose vehicle equipped with a PHEV system combining a 2.0-litre gasoline engine with an electric motor. The system produces a total output of 377 PS with a maximum torque of 630 Nm.
It is reported to achieve up to 136 kilometres in electric mode, while the combined range with the petrol engine and battery reaches 1,032 kilometres.
In terms of dimensions, the E9 measures 5,212 millimetres in length, 1,893 millimetres in width, 1,823 millimetres in height, and features a wheelbase of 3,070 millimetres.
