GWM Philippines has entered the midsize 4x4 SUV segment with the launch of the 2026 Haval H9 4x4, a seven-seat, four-wheel-drive turbodiesel SUV positioned as a premium yet capable off-road offering.
The 2026 Haval H9 measures 4,950 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,930 mm in height, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
Its dimensions place it alongside rivals such as the Ford Everest and the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 250.
This SUV is built on a body-on-frame platform and features a double-wishbone front suspension and a coil-spring, solid-axle multi-link rear suspension. It marks the brand's first truck-based seven-seat SUV offering in the Philippine market.
In terms of design, the Haval H9 adopts a boxy exterior profile. The front fascia features a rectangular grille with four horizontal chrome bars and round LED headlights, while the rear is fitted with a swing-out tailgate carrying an externally mounted spare tyre.
Other exterior features include soundproof glass for the windscreen and front doors, functional roof rails, and 18-inch wheels wrapped in 265/60 tyres.
Inside, the cabin is finished with synthetic leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces and premium interior trim elements.
Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch TFT instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, off-road information displays and a 540-degree camera system.
Additional features include tri-zone climate control, a cooled centre console, a 50W wireless charging pad, an eight-speaker audio system, an aircraft-style gear selector and a sunroof.
Power is provided by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine shared with the Cannon pick-up. The engine produces 186 PS at 3,600 rpm and 480 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm.
It is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a full-time four-wheel-drive system.
Seven selectable drive modes are offered: Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and 4L for low-range off-road driving. An off-road expert mode electronically adjusts stability control, anti-lock braking and other driver assistance systems to enhance off-road capability.
Safety features include six airbags, traction control, anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, hill descent control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring and an automatic crash unlock function.
The Haval H9 is priced at PHP 1,998,888 (US$ 33,895) and is offered with a seven-year or 200,000 km warranty. For a limited period, the model is available at a reduced price of PHP 1,929,888. Exterior colour options include Stealth Gray, Iceberg White and Midnight Black.
