Kawasaki has now discontinued the Ninja 400, a few months after it launched the Ninja 500.
Kawasaki Ninja 400 replaced by Ninja 500 in India
The Kawasaki Ninja 400 was launched in India back in 2018 at a lofty Rs. 470,000 (US$ (ex-showroom, India) price tag.
It was an all-new model that shared very little with the localised Ninja 300 that still soldiers on to this day despite being discontinued internationally for many years.
The Ninja 400 went off sale for nearly two years when the BS6 emissions norms kicked in back in 2020 and returned in 2022.
Ninja 500 is based quite heavily on the Ninja 400 and uses a stroked-out version of the 399cc mill. At Rs. 525,000, the Ninja 500 is priced exactly the same as the 400.
In fact, the Ninja 400 was offered with a significant discount in the months leading up to its discontinuation to help clear old inventory and make way for the Ninja 500.
