At the head office of Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) in Sunter, North Jakarta, recently, the position of President Director was handed over from Kotaro Shimizu to Shugo Watanabe.
The previous President Director of HPM, Kotaro Shimizu, has held this position since 2022, coinciding with the transition from the COVID-19 pandemic. During his helm, new cars in several segments such as the New Honda Brio, All New Honda Civic Type R, New Honda City and Honda WR-V were launched.
He also started the era of electrification by presenting iconic SUVs and sedans from Honda, namely the All New Honda CR-V RS e:HEV and All New Honda Accord RS e:HEV.
Shimizu assesses that "the Indonesian market has great potential and is full of challenges." This is what made him very enthusiastic when he first worked in Indonesia, says Shimizu.
Apart from products, Shimizu also brings HPM to expand its dealer network. From 2022 to March 2024, 33 new dealers have been opened, increasing the total number of Honda dealers to 161 and a network of 25 dealers.
"My experience in Indonesia has been an extraordinary journey," said Kotaro Shimizu.
Shugo Watanabe also has the same assessment about Indonesia. He conveyed his vision to continue building quality and reliable products that suit the needs of consumers in Indonesia.
"Indonesia is a strategic market for Honda, and I feel proud of the trust given to lead Honda Prospect Motor," concluded Shugo Watanabe to the media.
