Triumph Motorcycles Philippines has officially launched the new Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X.
First up, the Speed 400. This small and lightweight roadster features a sleek design with both hints of modern and retro styling. The front end is accentuated by a round headlamp and gold inverted forks. It comes standard with bar end side mirrors and sits on 17-inch wheels shod in 110/70 and 150/60 tires up front and out back, respectively.
The Speed 400 is powered by a 398cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that churns out 39.5 PS at 8,000rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It has a 790mm seat height, a wet weight of 170kg, and a 13-liter fuel tank.
Up next, the Scrambler 400 X. It bears similar styling with the Speed 400, but it has this full rugged scrambler look, hence, the name. It has a larger 19-inch wheel up front and a 17-inch one out back and has a seat height of 835mm.
Wet weight of the bike is listed at 179kg, and it also has a 13-litre fuel tank. It also doesn't come with bar end side mirrors, but it does have a headlight cover and hand guards. Mechanically, it is identical to the Speed 400, as it packs the same 39.5 PS, 37.5 Nm 398cc liquid-cooled single cylinder powerplant.
The Speed 400 comes with a price of PHP 299,000 (US$ 5,300) while the Scrambler 400 X is available for PHP 339,000. Both bikes come with Triumph's two-year warranty, and the brand says units are already available at almost all of their dealerships nationwide.
