Hyundai Mobility Thailand is preparing to launch a new vehicle in the Thai market, with the date set for 15th July 2025.
It is expected to be the all-new Santa FE 2025, a new generation of SUVs that was recently introduced in right-hand drive configuration and launched in Australia in 2024.
The Hyundai Santa FE enters its fifth generation as a large, three-row, seven-seat SUV. It was initially unveiled in mid-2023, while the right-hand drive version was released in Australia towards the end of that year.
It is offered with a choice of 2.5-litre petrol engines and hybrid powertrains, with a starting price of approximately THB 1.34 million (US$ 41,000).
This generation features a redesign, including changes in overall dimensions and appearance. It adopts a revised design language.
According to Hyundai, the model is aimed at families with outdoor activity preferences. The body has a boxy shape, with elements referencing the letter 'H', representing the Hyundai brand. These include H-shaped headlights and a black grille with integrated LED strips. The overall front design follows an H-shaped pattern.
The front bumper includes an H-shaped element, and the LED taillights also adopt a similar motif. The side profile includes sharp lines, with flared, squared wheel arches. The vehicle is fitted with 21-inch alloy wheels and 245/45 R21 tyres. The dimensions of the vehicle are 4,830 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,720 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.
On the inside it has been configured for use by large families, with three rows of seating available in six- and seven-seat configurations. The third row includes two captain seats. The upholstery and roof are finished in light colours. Materials used include wood-patterned trim on the door panels and dashboard, as well as soft-touch surfaces in various areas.
The second and third rows can be folded flat to increase interior capacity. The luggage compartment volume has increased by 91 litres compared to the previous model, offering 725 litres.
With the rear seats folded, this expands to 1,275 litres. The dashboard is fitted with dual digital displays, including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen positioned towards the driver. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
The centre console is integrated into the dashboard and includes an under-storage compartment.
It accommodates two smartphone charging pads and two large water bottles. USB-C ports are located at the front and rear, and a Bilateral Multi-Console is provided for small-item storage accessible from both rows.
The Santa FE 2025 is equipped with the Hyundai SmartSense safety and driver assistance suite. Features include 10 airbags, forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, driver attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control, intelligent speed limiter, rear collision avoidance, parking sensors (front and rear), a surround-view camera, remote smart parking assist, and rear occupant alert.
Two powertrain options are available based on the Australian market specification. The internal combustion engine (ICE) version is equipped with a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 281 PS and 422 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
The hybrid variant, expected to be introduced in Thailand, combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 180 PS and 264 Nm of torque with a 60 PS electric motor producing 264 Nm of torque.
A 47.7 kWh lithium-ion battery powers the hybrid system, resulting in a combined output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds.
Both variants are available in front-wheel drive and Hyundai's HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD) system. Driving modes include Eco, Sport, Comfort, Smart, Sand, Snow, and Mud.
Full specifications and details of the all-new Santa FE will be officially released on 15th July.
