KETO Motors, Telangana government to build Rs. 3 billion electric bus plant

KETO Motors has formalised an agreement with the Telangana Government to establish an electric bus manufacturing facility in Jadcherla with an investment of Rs. 3 billion (US$ 33.2 million).
The announcement was made at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 held at Bharat Future City. The facility will specialise in producing 9-metre electric buses and is projected to generate more than 2,000 direct employment opportunities within three years.
Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, attended the MoU signing ceremony.
The state Government will facilitate the project through its TG-iPASS single-window system, which streamlines statutory and regulatory approvals. This support is part of Telangana's efforts related to electric vehicle manufacturing and mobility-related projects.
Minister Sridhar Babu stated that the investment contributes to the electric vehicle value chain and manufacturing activities while creating employment opportunities. He noted the Government's focus on supporting organisations involved in economic development.
Venkatesh Challa, Director at KETO Motors, said that Telangana offers conditions that the company considers suitable for electric vehicle manufacturing.
He stated that the Jadcherla facility will enable the company to expand production capacity and develop electric buses intended to meet global standards while supporting India's manufacturing sector.
The Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 includes presentations on the state's industrial capabilities and policy framework under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The event included the release of the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision document.
KETO Motors, headquartered in Hyderabad, manufactures electric vehicles including electric autos and buses for urban and industrial mobility applications.
The company operates in partnership with Tron Energy Technology, Taiwan's largest electric bus original equipment manufacturer, to expand its production capabilities for domestic and export markets. The collaboration between KETO Motors and the Telangana Government is intended to support transportation-related initiatives and contribute to India's electric vehicle manufacturing infrastructure.
