Following a media preview and the commencement of pre-orders in early June, Taiwan Honda has officially launched the facelifted HR-V.
The updated line-up consists of three primary variants. The entry-level petrol model, the HR-V "S," retains its pre-sale price of NTD 799,000 (US$ 27,000). The hybrid line-up - comprising the "e:HEV S" and "e:HEV Prestige" variants - is priced at NTD 899,000 and NTD 959,000, respectively, both of which are NTD 10,000 below their initial pre-sale prices.
Additionally, a top-tier "e:HEV Prestige Super Edition," equipped with an AVM surround assist system, is available at NTD 985,000.
The facelifted HR-V will be available at Honda dealerships across Taiwan beginning the weekend of 21st June, with test drive reservations currently open via Honda's official website.
Styling and Hybrid introduction
Exterior changes include a redesigned front bumper, a blacked-out grille, and revised headlights. The e:HEV Prestige trim includes LED fog lights, sequential turn signals, and chrome accents.
Hybrid variants are marked by blue-accented Honda emblems and an "e:HEV" badge. Interior updates consist of adjustments to the centre console's storage configuration.
The model introduces Honda's e:HEV dual-motor hybrid system to the HR-V in Taiwan. The system pairs a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine with an electric motor producing 131 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
It operates primarily in EV mode for urban driving, switches to hybrid mode during acceleration or on inclines, and engages engine drive with overdrive for motorway use. Regenerative braking is used to recharge the lithium-ion battery during deceleration.
Fuel efficiency is rated at 26.18 km/ litre in city conditions, 22.11 km/ litre on highways, and an average of 23.5 km/ litre. The petrol-only HR-V S retains a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine (121 PS / 14.8 kgm), with an average fuel consumption of 16.3 km/ litre.
